Program:
Saturday, April 17th: Beijing – Guiyang
Upon your arrival in Guiyang, our local guide and driver will meet you at the arrival hall in Guiyang airport and escort you directly to your hotel located in the city center and help you check in. Free time the rest of the day to explore the city. Overnight in Guiyang.
Sunday, April 18th: Guiyang – Danzhai – Libo
After breakfast, drive to Danzhai (2.5 hours). On the way, we will stop at Kala Miao Village in Danzhai County, where you can learn how the batik making is made by traditional way and make your own batik work by yourself. Continue drive to Libo (1.5hours). Libo is the first world natural heritage site in Guizhou (2007) and is known as the emerald on the belt of the earth. Overnight in Libo.
Monday, April 19th: Libo – Zhaoxing
You’ll spend the whole day to enjoy the amazing view and hike in the nature. Daqikong scenic spot, the Natural Bridge, which is more than 80 meters high, is known as “the Oriental Arch of Triumph shaped by the magic power of nature”. Xiaoqikong scenic spot, with its forest, lakes, rivers, waterfalls and fantastic caves harmoniously melding into exquisite vistas, has been described as giant bonsai garden. End of afternoon, drive toZhaoxing Dong village. Overnight in Zhaoxing.
Tuesday, April 20th: Zhaoxing
Spend the morning hopping at Tang’an Dong village, an eco-museum, to visit the fascinating minority village. Then you can choose to hike through rice terraces and villagesfor 1 to 3 hours depending on your physical strength.
Back to Zhaoxing and explore this charming village with your local guide. The village is a real masterpiece of the Dong nationality, with theater stages, singing platforms, and grain barns. There are five drum towers, which are the village’s special symbols, and appear as five lotus flowers scattered in five naturally formed villages. In 2001, Zhaoxing Dong Village and its drum towers were listed in the Guinness World Records. Then, free time to explore the area or have a rest at the hotel. Overnight in Zhaoxing.
Wednesday, April 21st: Zhaoxing – Zenlei – Sandu
One hour drive from Zhaoxing Dong Village to Huanggang Dong Ethnic Minority Village, a less known Dong village and the best-preserved Dong village hidden in the mountains. The Dong culture and customs are well-preserved in this small village due to the underdeveloped transportation and the location. There you will meet the family of the Dong singer master Wu, and maybe learn a lovely Dong song.
Then drive two hours to another area of Shui nationality, Zenlei village. Zenlei Shui Village, with a history of over 300 years, has a population about 250 people in total. On the way to this picturesque village, you can enjoy a bird’s eye view of the whole village – the traditional wooden houses situated at the hillside with rice terraces layer upon layer stretching to the Duliu River. Overnight in Sandu.
Thursday, April 22nd: Guiyang – Beijing
After a leisurely breakfast, our local guide take you to visit the intangible Cultural Heritage Center of Sandu Country, to learn Horsetail Embroidery and character of Shui, then practice Shui calligraphy with the teacher. Drive back to Guiyang. After lunch, the guide and driver escort you to the airport for your flight back to Beijing.
